Providing end-of-life care to the residents of Perry, Leslie, Breathitt, Knott, Letcher, Morgan, and Wolfe counties, Hospice of the Bluegrass opened a new, 20,000 sq. ft. inpatient facility in May 2011. Located in Hazard, this facility has become the first inpatient hospice care center in eastern Kentucky. Designed to create a comfortable and rustic atmosphere, the care center includes 12 patient suites (approximately 500 sq. ft. each), a chapel (200 square feet) with space for private reflection, and a common area shared by a cluster of six patient rooms that includes a kitchen, lounge, living room, and children’s playroom.
